Professional History

Marcel Schwantes has over fifteen years experience coaching and training individuals and organizations all over the country to improve their well-being, relationships and personal effectiveness. Prior to establishing a successful coaching practice, his corporate career included human resources management and organizational development for Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, and non-profit organizations.

Marcel focuses his practice on transformational Faith-Based Coaching. He works with individuals, couples and leaders in the workplace, and is especially passionate about spiritual development to help men and women succeed in their relationships. Read about his core specialties.

Coaching Niche and Style

Marcel's coaching style is redemptive, holistic and non-judgmental. He supports those he partners with by guiding them toward discovering God's purpose for them, and calling them to explore and fulfill their full potential. 

The beauty of the framework of a coaching relationship is this: people can take stock of where they are, figure out where they want to go, and decide what steps to take to get there. Education and Training

Marcel has advanced training and coaching experience in personal and leadership development, relationships, career management and organizational development. He is a graduate of the Institute for Life Coach Training--a world-renowned, best practices training program accredited by the International Coach Federation.

As a Certified Prepare/Enrich Trained Facilitator, Marcel uses the leading relationship inventory and couples assessment tool for premarital counseling, marriage enrichment, couples coaching and marriage mentoring.

Marcel has a Masters Degree in Organizational Psychology and a Bachelors Degree in Communications. In addition to his extensive coaching training, experience and formal education, Marcel uses several proven approaches when applying coaching including emotional intelligence, lateral thinking, reframing, positive psychology, boundaries, servant leadership, vision casting, and several personality typologies (DiSC, Four Temperaments, PeopleMap, Myers-Briggs).

Marcel has worked extensively with helping church organizations succeed. His ministry experience includes:

• Having developed and led creative ministries from small groups/cell groups to large outreach events drawing thousands.
• Having launched key church programs/projects taking direct ownership and responsibility for program success.
• Having delivered lay training seminars to enrich and empower personal growth of church leaders.
• Having co-led in the conceptualizing, development, strategic planning and implementation of various parachurch ministries.
• Having been an online editor for a leading Christian progressive journal.
